For Ricky C, whose name is Ricardo Cisneros, music is simply life: "Music is everything to me; it is everything I ever dreamt of doing, for what I was born. Music is my life."
Son of Ecuadorian parents, Ricky C was born in Chicago, and raised in Miami, Florida. His father, Segundo Cisneros, also a famous singer, who recorded several albums and performed with extensive recognition in various countries, was the same one who inspired and motivated Ricky's musical talent from an early age. "With my dad, I enjoyed music for the first time. Together with him and his guitar, I could sing for many hours as a child."
His influences range from Michael Jackson, Boyz II Men, Brian McKnight, Cristian Castro and his Father Segundo Cisneros.
At seventeen years of age, Ricky C decided to devote himself professionally to music under his father's labor, however an onslaught of life took his father away after an illness. Ricky C has come out of this tragedy focusing on his musical career and is ready to move to the next level. Ricky C is prepared for a complete change in his life.
In early 2009, Ricky C had signed with Universal Latino Music and its record label Machete Music. Backed by this major record label, Ricky C continues to travel and promote his music with notable performances which include the Latin Billboard Awards Showcase with ASCAP, the United States National Anthem for the champions, New Orleans Saints (NFL) and Los Angeles Lakers (NBA); the famous Calle Ocho Festival and FM radio station Power 96.5's Beach House Concert, among many other performances.
In December 2009, Ricky C participates in the official remix of the song "Más" from singer Nelly Furtado's second Spanish album and in the summer of 2010, Ricky C debuts in the Spanish market with the song and music video for the single "Otro Amor", while continuing to write and record for his leap to the English-speaking market.
Ricky C has made appearances in magazines Billboard Magazine, ASCAP Playback Magazine, the cover of the popular cyber network Batanga.com, as well as being one of the official spokespersons for the campaign against smoking, Tobacco Free Florida.
Ricky C declares emphatically: "I do not want to limit myself or my art; music is universal and I wish to touch the public in the same way that other superstars have influenced me".
In 2011, Ricky C participates in a duet with Jon Secada. The song is called "Dimension."
Saturday June 11, 2011, the first single from Ricky C "Otro Amor" attained #12 on the Latin Billboards Tropical Charts.
In 2013, Ricky C and his brother formed their own Latin independent music label named CISVAL MUSIC and released the song "No Soy Feliz Sin Ti". In the first week, the song had 2,000 downloads via social media and positioned #82 to #52 on the Latin Billboard Charts during the first 2 months. "No Soy Feliz Sin Ti" continues to be promoted in 2014.
CISVAL MUSIC is gearing up for an extensive promotion tour in 2014 for this young talented artist. Ricky C is on his way in establishing himself as one of the best entertainer's in the world.
